Opposition sets in line against Shahbaz Sharif

The opposition of the Punjab Assembly has announced that if Shahbaz Sharif will take part in the elections of the National Assembly constituency NA 120, while maintaining Chief Minister Punjab's position, they will take him to court against this move, they demanded that Shahbaz will have to say goodbye to Chief Minister’s position before participating in Prime Minister’s contest.
The main opposition leaders in the provincial assembly expressed fear that Punjab government have issued massive development funds for NA-120, which include Temple Road, Mazang, Anarkali, Liton Road, Nishat Road and Islampura. Election Commission of Pakistan, so it may affect his position if he doesn’t resign from his Chief Minister’s position first.
Provincial government spokesman Malik Ahmed Khan said, "Shahbaz Sharif will continue to be the Chief Minister until the election of NA-120 in the National Assembly constituency going to be in September, there are no legal issues. Therefore, Shahbaz Sharif does not have to leave the office.
The opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmood Al-Rashid said; “If Shahbaz Sharif did not leave the Chief Minister's office before submitting the nomination papers in NA-120 constituency, we would not only protest against Punjab Assembly but will also turn to court against this.
The Punjab government claims that Shahbaz Sharif can take part in the election while maintaining his current position, but opposition leaders said that despite the Chief Minister's position, he will not be able to be part of public rallies in election campaign in any of the Punjab constituencies. I cannot attend; they cannot be part of their campaign while maintaining a position. '
He said that opposition will not allow Shahbaz Sharif to go against the Code of Conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
On the other hand, PPP's parliamentary leader Qazi Ahmed Saeed also acknowledged the fact in the Punjab Assembly, "Our party believes that Shahbaz Sharif is not allowed to remain on the position of Chief Minister before taking part in the election”.
Talking on legal complications regarding this, Advocate Qazi Mubeen said, "Under any law, a person holding a provincial assembly seat should not resign before taking part in the election of the National Assembly. As a member of the office and member of the provincial assembly, candidates can be nominated on the National Assembly seat”.
However, the lawyer explained that Shahbaz Sharif will not be allowed to use state machinery and protocols during his election campaign.
In response to a question asked by the Election Commission's Code of Conduct, Advocate Qazi Mubeen said that this ban is related to the election campaign of another candidate by the minister, it does not apply to his own personal election campaign.
On the other hand a provincial police officer said that on the request to not be named, "Although there is no direct restriction on contesting elections from any other constituency while remaining on its first seat, the Election Commission of Pakistan's Code of Conduct for Shahbaz Sharif is that current position of the government may lead to difficulties in participating in the by-elections'.
